wouldbeking.jpg
Photo for my review of Killzone 2.
-
81stoscarsbanner.png
Banner for last year's Oscars. Had a bit of a comic book vibe going, don't really know where that idea came from...
-
ambidustin.png
Review of Angels & Demons with my name in an ambigram.
-
bestmovie2009.jpg
Collage of awesome photoshops for our 2nd Annual Film Awards. Includes 2 unique ones, one for Up in the Air and one for Avatar.
-
braid-conspiracy.png
From one of my early posts, a conspiracy diagram for the game Braid.
-
cityofvault.jpg
For my review of City of Ember. Fallout reference in case the "mini nukes" bit is too obscure... ;)
-
districtmonotony.jpg
District 9 review. Pesky Podcasters...
-
dumblescottdustinpottertoddweasly.jpg
One of my favorites. Apparently Daniel Radcliffe and I had the same facial proportions. Not so much for Todd and Rupert Grint...
-
duplicitony.jpg
One of the few good things to come from Duplicity.
-
dustinkronkite.jpg
I didn't actually realize that the day I did this post, Walter Cronkite had died. Spooky...
-
dustinmakesanupdate.jpg
Homage to Zack & Miri. All that drawing done by mouse, not bad :)
-
dustinnoir.jpg
Ah Max Payne, what an awesome game and terrible movie. Took me a while to get this one working, but well worth it.
-
e3hangover.jpg
Yes, that's my face on Zack Galifianakis's body. :)
-
explainsitall.jpg
In response to James Cameron's ridiculously long talk about Avatar at the Ubisoft press conference at last year's E3.
-
falloutmonotony.jpg
My Fallout 3 themed logo banner.
-
fast&monotonous.jpg
Terrible movie, awesome photoshop opportunity.
-
fightagain.jpg
Pretty easy to replicate the text effects from this. I'm disappointed, Bungie :)
-
fringefiles.jpg
Ah, the Fringe Files. I really need to make myself a JJ Abrams mask like that.
-
gamernumber9.jpg
Review for Gamer and 9. This turned out better than I expected it would.
-
gimonotony.jpg
Scott's face didn't quite come-out right, but I love how my face fit. Go Joe!
-
greaterlessermediocre.jpg
My commentary on the amazingly varied loot found in Too Human. I think I'd go with the Lesser Sword of Greater Mediocrity.
-
halloweenmonotony.jpg
Ah yeah, my pumpkin carving for 2009. Luvs me some Where The Wild Things Are.
-
herecomesthesunshine.jpg
This had to be my favorite photoshop job, and despite the fact that when you analyze it, everyone's height proportions are wacky, it still looks so damn cool. Thanks, Danny Boyle!
-
inglouriousmonotony.jpg
Some Inglourious Podcasters.
-
lecrappe.jpg
Oh Truffaut, you never get old.
-
littlemissgenius.jpg
Little Miss Flash of Genius. The car used to be a metallic teal color.
-
lucasfirefly.jpg
I don't remember the purpose for this, something about "what if George Lucas had gotten a hold of Firefly" in relation to the long awaited, perpetually delayed Boba Fett Live action TV show. Pretty funny though :)
-
mccoypulaski08.png
Best part about 08 Elections, the traditional "Trek the Vote" campaign. Turned out nicely.
-
modernmonotony2.jpg
All of this (minus the avatars) is synthetic, hand made. Another logo easily replicated with a few waves of the photoshop wand.
-
monotonymen.jpg
That's me on the Comedian's body and Scott on Hooded Justice. What a great movie. And by great I mean acceptable to the few fans that weren't completely alienated by it.
-
monotonytrek.jpg
I think this was the best photoshop job I've done to date. Faces fit perfectly, even got the lighting and saturation just perfect. Really pleased with this one.
-
monotonytrekbanner.jpg
This might be my favorite Daily Monotony logo redux. That or the Watchmen one, hard to choose.
-
monotverine.jpg
Here's the trick. Up the contrast, desaturate, up the contrast, desaturate, rinse, repeat. Turned out nicely. I should go as gambit one year for Halloween.
-
nerdflu.jpg
My homage to nerdflu, aka paxpox, aka H1Nerd1...which I got form PAX, and it was awful. Was out of work for a week.
By the way, that's the actual H1N1 virus...minus the space invaders...at least I think...hmmm
-
obrienbashir08.png
The other part for Trek the Vote. Any easy match for Obrien to Obama and Bashir to Biden, thought I think I liked my McCoy / Pulaski one better.
-
oscarchallengebkg.png
Was going to use this for a idea I had that never came to fruition. Still might use it in the future, though I'll probably tweak at that point. I still love the concept of the silhouette rocking out to winning an Oscar.
-
publicdomain.jpg
For my Beatles Rockband Review. Frightening isn't it?
-
pumpkinstencil09.png
The illustrator template I made for my pumpkin carving. Basically traced the image from the story book on the computer, and easy way to "vectorize" photos and illustrations.
-
scullymulder.jpg
Fringe converted to their X-File counterparts. Hurrah for mouse drawing.
-
secretagentdroid.jpg
Note sure why I did this. Still looks cool :)
-
terminatormonotony.jpg
Not the best work, but not a bad example of the old "increase contrast, desaturate" technique.
-
thebrothersmonotony.jpg
I had a hard time getting my face to work on Mark Ruffalo's body, but I guess it sort of worked in the end. Good ole Brothers Bloom.
-
therevenge.jpg
Horrifying. Simply Horrifying. This was my second.
-
thumbiusleviosa.jpg
In response to what I felt was the ridiculously overrated Harry Potter 6 rottentomatoes score.
-
top5summer2009.jpg
I nice little montage of the best films of the summer.
-
transformermonotony.jpg
While photoshopping this I realized the entire Transformers 2 film had been washed in a "burnt orange" filter. That or they dipped Megan Fox in sweet & sour sauce...hey, get your mind our of the gutter!
-
trekthevote.jpg
Trek the Vote! So much more effective than rocking it.
-
trendypart2.jpg
The top two movie trends of 2009, Vampires & 3D. Hence this little number. An easy way to get the "it's coming out of the TV effect" that I discovered.
