Those of you who have listened to the most recent Weekly Monotony will remember my tirade against the film community's attempt to destroy my childhood with a horrifyingly dissapointing trailer for a film adaptation of the beloved childrens book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. That's why I was suitably skepticle when perusing the new trailers of the week and I happened upon a film conversion of yet another beloved childhood classic, Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are. However, after viewing said preview snippet, my tears of horror turned to the soft weap of joy. This movie looks absolutely stunning, and I could not be happier to see director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) helming this haunting and inspired envisioning of the source material. It gave me goose bumps and had me thinking "Best Achievement in Cinematography", and this is just the first trailer! I dare you to watch this trailer and not get excited. Go on, I double dog dare you!
