Richard Curtis' The Boat that Rocked

Whether they be Somalis with RPGs, file sharing Sweds, or faintly fruity JohnnyD's, pirates seem to be all the rage these days.  What better way to celebrate the salty dogs of the sea then a whale of a tale about a crew of piratical broadcasters brimming with big-name Brits and captained by the Sir Francis Drake of the silver screen, Philip Seymour Hoffman.   Director Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary) continues his fixation with the British en-rom-com (ensemble romantic comedy) choosing this time to base the concept loosely on the advent of off-shore radio broadcasters in 1960's London.  Why not a biopic on Clark Gable?  Well, he would if could be he was not able.

Now give 'er shifty ya mangy bilge rats!
