Episode 25 - What did you see?

Film Reviews - "G.I. Joe" "Funny People" and "The Perfect Getaway"

We're back on the air and only a day (or two) late.  But to make up for lost time, this week we bring you a smorgasbord of entertainment content with reviews of three big films, and with surprising results. But the star, of course, is Hasbro's adaptation of the classic cartoon-to-sell-toys, G. I. Joe. But does Joe justify its big screen adaptation, or like Transformers 2, should this film have stayed shut up in the "toy box of shame" you have sitting under you bed.

...what? I said you have sitting under your bed...hey, shut up!

It's time to rock, rock on! It's Weekly Monotony.

Episode 24 - Night Vision Goggles

Film Review - "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince"

Potterheads rejoice as yet another installment in the billion-dollar Rowling series leaves the printed page for the silver screen, and this week we recap our experiences in magical world of broomsticks and butterbeer, and pass judgement over film number six, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. But is the Half Blood Prince a cinematic cheering charm or does it require a crash course in defense against the dark arts?

We solemnly swear we are up to no good, it's Weekly Monotony.

Episode 23 - Paying Double

Game & Movie News Special

Sometimes when the only thing to see is Bruno, it's best not to see anything at all. But a little hitch like "no movie to review" won't keep this podcast off the air as we discuss some of last week's juicier news from the gaming and film fronts, including Harry Potter's magically high rottentomatoes score and DICE's release of Battlefield 1943.

More entertaining than the News Hour with Jim Lerher, It's Weekly Monotony.

Episode 22 - Subtly Entertaining

Film Review - "Public Enemies"

Michael Mann and his digital camera fetish are back in a screen adaptation of the life notorious bank robber John Dillinger, played by everyone's favorite slightly-effeminate-pirate, Johnny Depp, er, I mean Captain Johnny Depp. But can Depp's acting prowess bring life to a dead gangster, or does Mann's film belong in "Gangster Week" on the History Channel?

Episode 21 - Deceptiville

Film Review - "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen"

Oh what it only must be like to be inside the brain of bombastic action director Michael Bay. One can only wonder the tumult and toilet jokes clanking around this man's head, but every so often we are treated to a small glimpse into the madness that is the man when he spills forth his adolescent musings in the form of a half-a-billion dollar, blockbusting, box-office smash. This week we are treated with part two of the film about those machines which are more than meets the eye, robots in disguise. Can Michael Bay build on the success of the previous box-office hit, or will this film make you wish that you could fold up into something compact and small and scurry away?

Autobots, attack! It's Weekly Monotony.
