Muffled by the translucent glass and peals of thunder, soft, sad strains of horsehair on catgut whine softly in the chill, night air, till interrupted...by A SPEED RAMPED EXPLOSION!?! Oh yeah, welcome to world of the greatest detective in Christendom as seen though the snappy edits of Mr. Guy Richie and the cheeky grin of none other than Robert Downey Jr. Finally we get a chance take a glimpse in to what sounds like one of the most amazing team-ups ever conceived in what is sure to be a gin-soaked, lit on fire rendition of the classic tales of the finest Brit to ever don a hunting cap and smoke a pipe, Mr. Sherlock Holmes.

Robert Downey Jr.? I'm skeptical. Isn't he, I don't know--a bit too young and good-looking?
If by too young and good-looking you mean "too awesome and perfect for the part", then yes :)
They made Sherlock Holmes an arrogant reckless badass for this movie, so Robert Downey Jr. is perfect to play him. That's pretty much the only character Downey does well.
